Attorney profile

Jake S. Kim, Esq.

Experienced courtroom advocacy. Direct attorney attention. Modern, disciplined legal practice.

I am a New York and New Jersey attorney focused on divorce, custody, equitable distribution, and related family law matters.

Before entering private practice, I served as an Assistant District Attorney in Orange County, New York, managing a high-volume docket of hundreds of criminal matters. That work taught me to find the central issue in a complex case, assess risk realistically, and prepare every matter with the courtroom in mind. Across my career as a prosecutor and private attorney, I have personally conducted more than 100 bench trials and hearings and eight jury trials, including a Class A felony jury trial as defense counsel. I now represent clients in divorce, custody, equitable distribution, and related proceedings throughout New York and New Jersey.

I founded Jake Kim Law Firm to provide direct, accountable representation. I personally oversee case strategy, written submissions, court appearances, and every major decision affecting a client’s matter. I work to reduce unnecessary conflict where possible and to litigate fully when a client’s interests require it. My multicultural background and experience communicating across language and cultural barriers help me guide clients through difficult proceedings with clarity and respect.

Through June Guided Solutions, LLC, I develop attorney-supervised legal technology for structured intake, document preparation, internal organization, and quality control. My professional technology environment is deliberately chosen — enterprise infrastructure with security and privacy controls appropriate to legal work — and built so that technology handles repetition and organization while the attorney remains responsible for every legal decision.

Technology supports my process, but the judgment, verification, and final accountability are mine.

Every filing my office submits is personally reviewed and approved by me. My goal is straightforward: clear advice, disciplined advocacy, and direct accountability at every stage.
